  • Hi, I’m Ayala David, ERYT 500 and YAECP. I’m a yoga therapist, group facilitator, and somatic practitioner. I’ve been teaching yoga for more than ten years and working as a yoga therapist for the last seven. Yoga changed my life in a way that felt so grounding and transformative that I knew I wanted to share it with others. It helped me feel safe in my own body, understand my emotions, and build self trust, and that experience shaped the work I do today.

My background includes trauma sensitive yoga, DBT and ACT informed skills, body image work, meditation, breathwork, sound therapy, and nervous system regulation. Over the years I have facilitated countless groups focused on embodiment, distress tolerance, mindfulness, emotional processing, and reconnecting with the self.

I have worked in a wide range of treatment settings. Early in my career I supported veterans, which taught me a lot about resilience, trauma, and the power of compassionate body based work. I also worked at the Emily Program in inpatient, residential, and PHP levels of care. I spent several years at Carolina House in residential, PHP, and IOP settings, where I worked with both eating disorder and general mental health populations. Most recently, I worked at Pasadena Villa in PHP and IOP programs supporting individuals with complex mental health needs.

I have taught yoga for neurodivergent and autistic individuals, adapting practices to support sensory needs and emotional regulation. I also hold the E on my ERYT 500, meaning I have the taught over 2000 hours and held my certification for over 5 years. As a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider, I created and taught a continuing education course for therapists on how DBT skills and yoga practices work together to support clients in treatment.

My approach is warm, intuitive, and experiential. I care deeply about helping people feel safe in their bodies and reconnecting them with their inner world. Helping others has always felt like my purpose, and I feel honored to be part of someone’s healing journey.

In my free time I love to read, meditate, hike, and spend time in nature. Those practices keep me grounded, inspired, and connected, and I bring that same intention into every group and session I offer.
