Meghan Griffin, MSW, LCSWA - Therapist

Hi! I'm Meghan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate in North Carolina. Originally from Virginia, I earned my Master of Social Work with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work in Colorado, then moved back east to North Carolina a year ago. I practice from a person-first and strength-based approach to therapy, recognizing that there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. I take a humanistic and holistic approach, showing up authentically to sessions and encouraging my clients to do the same. Valuing respect, authonomy, and empowerment, I strive to work alongside you to build your own toolbox of skills to work toward your goals, overcome life challenges, and experience wellness across life dimensions.

I enjoy working with adult clients navigating a wide variety of challenges and concerns, including trauma, dissociation, depression, anxiety, personality disorders, interpersonal difficulties, identity exploration, life stress, and more. I am an LGBTQ+ affirming therapist, and I am passionate about creating safety, honoring autonomy, and protecting confidentiality to promote a safe space to be vulnerable and open up at your pace. I have prior experience serving both court-mandated and self-referral clients in outpatient therapy working toward recovery in mental health and substance use, as well as working with clients in higher levels of care to navigate acute and chronic mental health concerns.

I believe strongly that every person has the ability to recover and change, and I work to create a safe, non-judgemental, and collaborative environment in the therapy space to facilitate healing. I have experience utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and I enjoy pulling from various therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and more to support clients as they navigate the challenges, triumphs, and changes of life.
